Monaghan got their Under 20 Ulster football championship campaign underway with a loss to Derry last night in Castleblayney. The hosts started brightly as they went into a 3 point lead but a run of scores by the Oak leaf county seen them lead by 6 points to 5 at the break. They extended that lead early in the 2nd half before a penalty from Max Mc Ginnity seen the sides level with 10 minutes to go. However a 2 pointer from Tommy Rogers swung the game back in favour of the visitors who held on for a 14 points to 1-08 victory. Farney Manager Paul O'Connor spoke to our reporter Sean Mc Caffrey afterwards
