Monaghan’s Joe Loughlin was the fastest Irish man at the Isle of Man TT after posting an average lap speed of 119 mph. Loughlin was awarded a bronze replica as a result of been one of the fastest newcomers and finished in 20th place overall. He was part of the ILR 600 Yamaha team and his performance was amazing having battled against strong winds. The Castleblayney native has had a great season so far having finished in sixth place in the North West 200 Super sport race and won the Super twin race which added to his junior and senior national titles from 2017. Separately, five competitors lost their lives during the course of the event.
