Monaghan and Cavan have secured home fixtures following the draw for the 2nd round of the All Ireland championship. St Tiernachs Park Clones will play host to the meeting of Monaghan and Roscommon while Dublin will be the visitors to Kingspan Breffni. Both sides were in the 2B group following losses at the weekend. Westmeath got the better of Cavan after extra time in Mullingar with Breffni forward Paddy Lynch noting it was a tough result to take
Monaghan meanwhile lost out to Mayo having reduced an 11 point half time deficit back to 1 point. Manager Gabriel Bannigan noted their 1st half performance proved costly
Elsewhere in the draw Kerry will be away to Kildare while Derry are set to host Meath. The winners of those games will go through to round 3 while it will be season over for the losers. In Group 2A , Galway and Westmeath are set to meet in Pearse Stadium, Cork face a long trip to take on Donegal, Tyrone will host Mayo and Armagh will be away to Louth. The winners of those fixtures will go through to the quarter final while the losers will face the winners from group 2B.
All those fixtures are scheduled for the weekend of June 13th with the CCCC to confirm times and venues later today (Wednesday)
