The Ulster senior semi finals take centre stage this weekend with plenty of local interest. First up tomorrow evening (Saturday) at 5pm in the Box-It Athletic Grounds, Monaghan who accounted for Cavan in their quarter final meeting take on Derry who overcame Antrim. Both sides can enter the game with high levels of confidence with the Oak leaf county carrying the slight favourites tag. Monaghan have named their team for that fixture and it shows no changes to the side that started the quarter final with Rory Beggan in Goals. A full back line of Darragh McElearney, Ryan O'Toole and Dylan Bryne. Cameron Dowd, Dessie Ward and Aaron Carey make up the half back line with Michael Mc Carville and Louis Kelly at the centre of the field. Karl Gallagher, Michael Bannigan and Stephen O'Hanlon are in the half forward line with David Garland, Andrew Woods and Stephen Mooney completing the starting 15. The Bench also remains the same with Bobby mc Caul, Killian Lavelle and Conor Mc Carthy among the subs. Manager Gabriel Bannigan noted that after a difficult league campaign the panel have found themselves in a good place

The 2nd of the semi finals will see Armagh and Down go head to head in St Tiernachs park, with it estimated that up on 25'000 will be in attendance in Clones for that encounter. Armagh over came Tyrone in the preliminary round and followed that up with a victory over Fermanagh last weekend. Down produced one of the shocks of the championship so far when they defeated the defending champions Donegal in Letterkenny last Sunday. Throw in for that game is 4pm
