With the completion of the pre-season tournaments, the attention will now be turning to the start of the Allianz National football league next weekend. Monaghan will make a return back to Division 1having gained promotion last year. While it was a defeat to Donegal on Saturday evening past in the Bank of Ireland Dr. Mc Kenna cup, manager Gabriel Bannigan remarked that the competition achieved its objectives and was also a learning curve for the panel.
Monaghan open their league campaign when they welcome Armagh to Clones on Sunday next at 2pm.
