Monaghan to face Westmeath in All Ireland championship

Clones will host the fixture

Monaghan will have home advantage against Westmeath following the draw for Round 3 of the All Ireland championship this morning (Monday). Following their win over Roscommon on Saturday the Farney side were in the draw alongside Kerry, Dublin and Meath. The Kingdom overcame Kildare, Dublin accounted for Cavan while Meath got the better of Derry. Donegal, Armagh, Westmeath and Mayo were on the other side following their losses to Cork, Louth, Galway and Tyrone.

The Round 3 draw has paired Monaghan with Westmeath as noted, while Armagh will be away to Kerry, Dublin are set to host Donegal with Ger Brennan hoping that they can use Parnell park for that fixture and Mayo will welcome Meath. Dates, Venues and throw in times for those fixtures will be confirmed later today with the games scheduled for the coming weekend 20th/21st June. The winners of those ties will then face Cork, Louth, Galway or Tyrone in this year's quarter finals.

Elsewhere, the semi-finals have been drawn in the Tailteann Cup. Down are up against Fermanagh, while Offaly will take on Wicklow. Both of those games will be played at Croke Park.
