The minor matter of the 2020 championship
Monaghan are the current Ulster Minor champions having made it back to back titles in 2018/19

The Ulster minor championship of 2020 remains uncomplete having been postponed at the semi final stage

With the government set to announce a further easing of Covid 19 restrictions, minor intercounty managers have now joined their U20 counterparts in calling for clarity as to when action can return for their panels. With the Ulster championship semi finals of 2020 yet to be played, Monaghan have found themselves in limbo as they cannot return to collective training as they fall between those underage teams at club level and the senior teams at intercounty level. The frustration is further exasperated by the fact that training for all teams in the 6 counties has returned over the past few weeks, with 3 of the 4 teams left in the competition been Tyrone, Derry and Fermanagh

Mark Counihan is manager of the Monaghan team, who are the defending champions and he noted the difficult time it has been for all involved
