Ireland’s Carer of the year for 2017 pays tribute to family

A Cavan woman who won an award for Ireland’s Carer of the year says all her family play their part in taking care of her elderly parents.

Mother-of-two Paula Robinson from Cootehill received the award for Ireland’s Carer of the Year 2017 back at the end of November. Paula provides round-the-clock, full-time care for her mother Mary, who has Alzheimer’s, and her father Jimmy, who has bowel cancer.

Paula spoke on today’s Joe Finnegan Show, she paid tribute to her husband and two sisters who she believes all play their part in taking care of their two elderly parents.
