The EU’s Agriculture Commissioner says Brexit will impact on jobs in the border region.
Phil Hogan says investment in infrastructure will be needed to allow goods be transported to mainland Europe, in the event of a hard Brexit.
He says there are a number of issues to be discussed during the negotiations but the border with Northern Ireland will be one of the first to be dealt with.
Phil Hogan was speaking on a visit to Monaghan with the EU’s Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier on Friday.
