Kells workers to be balloted on industrial action in ongoing dispute

Workers at the ABEC Technologies plant in Kells are to be balloted for industrial action.

It’s the latest development in a dispute over the terms and conditions of some workers at the plant.

Seventy people are currently employed by ABEC Technologies in Kells.

It bought the Kells Stainless company – which was set up from the Bailieborough based Bailie Engineering – in 2015.

Trade Union UNITE is to ballot its members in the plant on industrial action this week – ABEC Technologies is yet to respond to a request for a statement from Northern Sound News.
