Lakeland Dairies have stated that they are prepared for Brexit regardless of the outcome.
At a recent presentation delivered to Cavan County Council, Chief Executive of Lakeland Dairies Michael Hanley, said that while no Brexit would be the best outcome, Theresa May’s deal would be the next best thing. However, he also stated that they are confident that their continued exports of 170 branded products to markets worldwide, will continue and grow in spite of Brexit developments.
Their largest customers are currently Africa, with Asian markets also growing and the co-op hope to reach a turnover of 1bn euro by 2021 thus securing the future of the co-op. It recenlty finished its takeover of the Monaghan based LacPatrick Dairies, with the two companies now branded Lakeland Dairies.
