Late Goals Give Ramour United Cavan U20 Title

Ramour United claimed the McEvoys SuperValu Virginia U20 Division 1 Championship with a dramatic late victory over St. Aidans.

Two late goals from Ronan Patterson and Conor Nulty saw Ramour to a six point victory 2-14 to 1-11 in Kingspan Breffni.

Ramour had led nine points to six at half-time with the game springing to life in the second-half, Tiernan Reilly and Sean Keoghan exchanging points early in the second half.

Keoghan’s 37th minute point put Ramour four points clear. Tiernan Reilly and Conor Nulty exchanged points before Reilly landed two St.Aidans points to make it a three point game with four minutes remaining.

Cian Smith levelled the game with a goal just two minutes before the end, but Ramour weren’t going to be undone.

Liam Maguire restored Ramour’s lead with two quick fire goals from Ronan Patterson and Conor Nutly sealed the title for Ramour.

Tiernan Reilly pulled back a point but it was Ramour who won out by six points 2-14 to 1-11.
