The HSE has been slammed after changes to buses for people who use local day services. Letters were sent from the HSE this week saying the service to Steadfast House in Carrickmacross and Drumlin House in Cootehill, which is currently free of charge, will cost €4 a day from next Monday.
In a statement, the HSE said that due to increased transport costs, it is necessary to introduce a standard charge which will go towards improving the delivery of services. But people using the service say it’ll cost them over €950 a year. Separately, users of Steadfast House will have to pay €5 per day for lunch.
