Litter pickers in Monaghan at risk when cars failed to slow down

Litter pickers in Monaghan found themselves at risk when cars failed to slow down on approach.

The Kilmore Swans Community Alert Group were out on the Rockcorry/Newbliss road Tuesday evening with a number of young people from the community to clear the streets of litter.Despite safety precautions by the group who all had high vis jackets and a car with flashing hazard warning lights to alert traffic, most cars failed to reduce their speed, posing considerable risks to the group.
