Live register figures fall in Cavan and Monaghan for September

The number of people on the live register in Cavan and Monaghan has fallen by six per cent over the last month.

The CSO data shows 5,712 people signed on in the Northern Sound region in September, down from 6,074 in August.

All social protection offices across the two counties have seen a decrease in the number of people signing on, with 3,267 recorded in Cavan and 2,445 in Monaghan.

The figure is also down year on year, with 456 fewer people signing on locally in September when compared with the same month last year.
