Local farmers encouraged to attend meeting aimed at preventing cattle rustling

Farmers in Cavan and Monaghan are being encouraged to attend a meeting aimed at preventing cattle rustling.

The meeting in Emyvale this evening is being supported by Gardai, the PSNI and farming organisations on both sides of the border. It’s estimated that since Christmas, 122 cattle have been stolen from farms in the border region.

IFA Chairman in County Monaghan Frank Brady said cattle rustling can take a farmer’s livelihood.
