Local farmers should be satisfied with progress made in talks over beef sector dispute

Local farmers should be satisfied with the progress made in talks over the beef sector dispute.

Monaghan Chairman of Beef Plan Micheal Rafferty worked behind the scenes during the discussions that ran into the early hours of this morning.

Developments were made on market transparency and the introduction of a price index, with the talks paused to allow Meat Industry Ireland to inform its members of developments.

Speaking to Northern Sound, Micheal Rafferty said patience will be needed to see the talks through.
