Local Gardaí involved in operation to recover stolen dogs

Local Gardaí have been involved in an operation that led to the recovery of four puppies stolen in Galway.

The four foxhound puppies were stolen in Craughwell on June 21st.

They were among a number of dogs discovered during a search at Belfast Harbour later that week.

The four week old puppies have since been identified and reunited with their mother

Gardaí in Monaghan, Clones and Bailieborough were among those involved in the investigation, which also included the Belfast Harbour Police, ISPCA and Belfast City Council.

Gardaí have urged dog owners to make sure their pets are microchipped and have encouraged the owners of “high-value” breeds to invest in CCTV.
