Local guidance counsellor says students should ‘work on assumption there will be exams as normal’

A local Guidance Counsellor in Monaghan says students should remain focused and work on the assumption that there will be exams as normal.

Guidance counsellor Gerry O’Reilly also encouraged students to avail of all the online resources that are being used to ensure that students can keep up with their work.

The advice comes on the back of the Department of Education’s announcement that Leaving and Junior Cert oral and practical exams are cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Students will be awarded full marks for the exams, which were due to start next week.

Gerry O’Reilly told The Wider View that students need to keep in mind that they will need to do some form of exams:
