Minister Heather Humphreys has been reflecting on the 1916 commemorations, now that the centenary year is drawing to a close.

Hundreds of events to commemorate the 1916 Easter Rising took place throughout the year, and closing events in Cavan and Monaghan took place earlier this month.

Minister Humphreys – who lead the 1916 commemorations programme – says the Government achieved its goal in making the commemorations inclusive to everyone on the island of Ireland.
