Local politicians have mixed views on possibility of early election

There are mixed views about the possibility of a General Election being called early.

The agreement between Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil has been drawn up to cover three budgets, meaning an election could be expected after the budget in 2018.

There’s been speculation that Leo Varadkar could call an early election, with tensions between him and Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin bubbling over in the Dáil this week.

However, local Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny doesn’t think one is likely within the next year:
