A local publican and councillor is calling for a government package to be put together to help businesses across the board following the current pandemic.
Yesterday pubs and nightclubs were closed until the end of March, with some local pubs having already shut their doors prior to this decision.
While the move was largely accepted and welcomed there are fears from some business owners that they may never recover and re-open when the restrictions are lifted.
Belturbet independent councillor, and pub owner Brendan Fay has said that with rates and VAT high at the moment many places may struggle to survive, calling on the government to consider a package that will assist such businesses post Covid 19.
