A local publican says pubs should bide their time instead of trying to re-open ahead of the current government road-map.
According to the Licenced Vintners Association, a number of pubs in Dublin have secured restaurant licences in recent weeks in order to open their doors on June 29th.
Under the government’s re-opening plan, pubs aren’t due to reopen until August 10th,
Ross Adamson, of Adamsons Bar in Clones, says re-opening pubs too soon could set the whole industry “back a phase or two”.
Ross told Shannonside Northern Sound that while the pubs are an important part of Irish life, he won’t be re-opening until he feels it is safe to do so:
