Local representatives to discuss Interconnector today

Local councillors will meet with Oireachtas members today to discuss Eirgrid’s planned Interconnector.

Members of Monaghan County Council will meet with local members of the Oireachtas this morning in Monaghan to discuss An Bord Pleanala’s decision to approve the North-South Interconnector.

The body approved the project late last year, however it’s been met with opposition since it was first announced.

Eirgrid is planning on constructing hundreds of pylons across Cavan, Monaghan, Meath and Tyrone to connect the two electricity grids on the island.
