Local residents “upset and concerned” over new crownhole in Magheracloone

Residents in Magheracloone say the opening of a new crownhole in the area has only increased their anxiety.

Gyproc announced yesterday that the crown hole was discovered on Friday and confirmed after further examination.

It says this crownhole is not close to any homes, public infrastructure or roads.

However, Geraldine Ward, of the Drumgossett/Knocknacran residents association, told Northern Sound that “this has added to the devaluation of more homes”.

Geraldine questioned the safety of the site and revealed that residents close to the new crownhole are “very upset and concerned”.

Geraldine also claimed that Gyproc is “wreaking havoc on our small parish”.
