Local Senator says Monaghan needs a Passport Office

There are calls for a new Passport Office to be located in Monaghan.

Local Senator Robbie Gallagher says there’s been a spike in demand for Irish passports from people in Northern Ireland since the Brexit vote.

He says there’s been a 26 per cent increase in the number of people from the North applying for Irish passports.

There are already two Passport Offices, one in Dublin and one in Cork, but Senator Gallagher says another is needed to serve the north of the island.
