Local students among those calling for Government action on climate change

Students from across Cavan and Monaghan are took part in strikes and protests today to highlight the Government’s inaction on climate change. They’re calling for the declaration of a “climate emergency” as Ireland is set to miss targets to cut carbon emissions.

Major demonstrations are took place in Dublin and Cork, with others around the country – including outside the Court House in Carrickmacross.

The march, which began at 12pm, came after the  the issuing of 6 demands to the Dail to address this growing problem.
