Primary school students from Castlerahan will represent the region at today’s Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland One Good Idea Competition today.
The two teams have successfully made it to the final by creating a 1 minute film on their chosen topic, and today have presented a 3 minute PowerPoint presentation to a panel of judges in the hopes of making it to the National Finals later this year.
The first project is called Right Price Fashion, where the team hope to encourage reusing old clothes, or shopping for more second hand items by demonstrating the negative impact the fashion industry as a whole can have on the environment through emissions.
The second project called House Busters takes a look at the actions that can be taken in the home sot reduce the amount of energy used.
Speaking ahead of their presentations in Dublin this morning Millie and Lorna explained why they focused on these two areas:
Yesterday secondary students from Inver College, Beech Hill College, and Loreto Cavan all competed in their Regional Final.
