Local TD demands new recommendations for insurance industry are implemented

Government must implement the new motor insurance recommendations’.

That’s the view of Cavan/Monaghan Fianna Fáil TD Niamh Smyth following the publication of the report on the cost of motor insurance, which contains 33 recommendations.

Deputy Smyth says she’s worried about the timeline regarding the implementation of the committee’s proposals, as it has been suggested that it could take as long as 18 months before certain measures are implemented.

Deputy Smyth has called on Ministers Michael Noonan and Shane Ross to ensure that these proposals are implemented without delay so that the so-called ‘rip-off culture’ in the insurance industry is tackled.
