Local TD says new rules in the Dail should help encourage more women to get involved in politics at both a national and local level.

This week the Chairman of the Dail confirmed that breastfeeding would now be accommodated in Leinster House. He also stated that further supports would be looked at to encourage more new mothers to get involved and remain in politics.

This came following Cavan TD Niamh Smyth’s experience with trying to balance motherhood and the demands of her job in politics.
