Lory Meagher Cup: Cavan Hurlers unlucky to lose in Lanchashire

Cavan were unlucky not pick up their first points in the Lory Meagher Cup after they suffered a 0-24 to 1-18 loss to Lanchasire in Manchester. They were level at half time and Cavan were leading by 4 points with 10 minutes to go. Colum Sheanon scored 1-06 from play for Cavan and Ronan Crowley excelled for Lanchashire scoring a remarkable 21 points (including 15 frees). They’ve one game left away to Fermanagh next Saturday.

Warwickshire are through to the Lory Meagher Cup Final with a game to spare after they claimed a fourth consecutive win at the expense of third placed Leitrim at Páirc na hÉireann. Leitrim were leading by 1-07 to 0-08 but Warwickshire saw out the match on a score of 2-16 to 1-11.Sligo aiming for a third final in a row defeated Fermanagh by 5-14 to 2-13. Lancashire remain in the hunt after earning their second-ever win in the competition. after the game the table standings see Warwickshire on 8 points,Sligo on 6 points Leitrim and Lanchashire both on four points, Fermanagh with two points and Cavan still to get off the mark.

Sligo will join Warwickshire in the final if they defeat Leitrim next Saturday in Pairc Sean MacDhiarmada but Leitrim will get through if they beat Sligo and Lancashire lose to Warwickshire.
