LP4900 road in Magheracloone could reopen by August

A Magheracloone road that closed following the discovery of a crown hole over five months ago could reopen by August. A public meeting was held last night to hear updates on the LP4900 road which has been closed since December last year.

Up to 70 members of the Drumgossett/Knocnacran Residents Group attended the meeting and expressed their frustration at the slow progress made so far, and questioned the latest proposal of reopening the road by August.

Local councillors are understood to be working to arrange a meeting with Minister Heather Humphreys, Minister of State Seán Canney and all stakeholders to find a solution, with residents again calling for an independent enquiry to be set up.
