Major education conference underway in Carrickmacross

The Fórsa union’s education conference is underway in Carrickmacross today.

The union, which represents non-teaching staff like SNAs and secretaries, will discuss the exclusion of its staff from some pay deals. The body is calling for a new training programme for special needs assistants, which would move towards “professionalising” the role within the education sector.
