“Makes sense” to increase services in Monaghan Hospital – Varadkar

The Taoiseach says it “makes sense” that more services should be offered in Monaghan Hospital.

There have been calls for step down care beds and some operations to be carried out in the facility to relieve pressure on other hospitals in the region.

Cavan General has come under increasing pressure over the past year with jumps of over 900 per cent in the number of people on trolleys.

Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin in October committed to increasing services in Monaghan Hospital if his party was returned to Government.
