Man arrested after fatal Dublin stabbing

A man has been arrested after a man was stabbed to death in Dublin City Centre.  It happened on O’Connell Street at 1.40 this morning.

A large section of O’Connell Street is closed in both directions as Gardaí carry out their investigation.  Buses are being diverted away from the area, while the Green Luas line isn’t running between St. Stephen’s Green and Dominick.

The victim was stabbed outside Dr Quirkey’s on O’Connell Street. He was brought to the Mater Hospital but pronounced dead a short time later.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information or anyone who was on O’Connell St, in the early hours of this morning to contact them.
