Mandate again call for talks with Tesco to resolve dispute

The Mandate Trade Union have made a fresh offer of ‘without prejudice’ talks to resolve the Tesco dispute.

The General Secretary of Mandate, John Douglas, has this morning written to Andrew Yaxley, the CEO of Tesco Ireland, making a fresh offer of talks to resolve the current row over contracts.

Mandate sent the same appeal to Tesco Ireland on Friday and received no response.

This comes as workers at eight Tesco stores across the country are beginning their second day of strike action in a row over contracts for some long-standing staff.

A further eight stores including the Monaghan Tesco will join the picket on Friday.
