Meat Industry Ireland is being urged to re-engage in talks aimed at resolving the ongoing beef crisis.

The second round of discussions were cancelled on Monday after the group pulled out – blaming protests outside meat factories.

It since announced the protests have forced it to temporarily lay off 3-thousand staff at the facilities.
