Monaghan County Council supports “Care Can’t Wait” campaign’s vote of no confidence in Health Minister

Monaghan County Council has supported the “Care Can’t Wait” campaign’s vote of no confidence in the Health Minister Simon Harris.

“Care Can’t Wait” is a campaign started by the Irish Hospital Consultants Association.

The campaign highlights shortages in the system and long waiting lists for patients.

Councillor Sean Conlon raised the motion, which also called for the Monaghan County Council to express its disappointment in Health Minister Simon Harris.

The Council sent a letter to the Health Minister expressing its want to utilise Monaghan General Hospital for additional services and increased bed capacity.

However, the response of the Health Minister was a letter of acknowledgement.

The motion was unanimously passed and Councillor Conlon said it was time for the current government to move on:
