Monaghan County Museum claims only prize for region at Chambers Ireland Awards

Monaghan County Museum claims only prize for the region at this year’s Chambers Ireland Award for Excellence in Local Government.

The museum won the ‘Heritage and built Environment Award’ for their nationally acclaimed exhibition, ‘The Monaghan Spitfire – Life on the Border with a World at War’.

The award was accepted by Cathaoirleach of Monaghan County Council Cllr Seamus Coyle and Museum Curator, Liam Bradley along with colleagues from Monaghan County Council at the awards ceremony yesterday evening.

While the region only took home one award Cavan County Council had received two nominations ahead of the ceremony with Monaghan nominated under six additional categories.
