Monaghan town-based GP Dr Illona Duffy says rates in the county are rising because people aren’t self-isolating – even after testing positive.

She says this is being proven by multiple close contacts of confirmed cases testing positive.

Dr Duffy says that in the interest of public safety, penalties need to be introduced for those who deliberately ignore isolation advice.
