Monaghan Fire Services issue reminder to public to carry out Smoke Alarm Checks

Monaghan Fire Services have issued a reminder to members of the public of the importance of having a working smoke alarm at home.

The Monaghan Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene of a domestic house fire in North Monghan over the bank holiday weekend. There was some damage to the building, but fortunately All occupants and a family pet, were evacuated safely from the premises.

In light of this, Monaghan’s Chief Fire officer, Dermot Brannigan has stressed the urgency of carrying out weekly checks and ensuring your smoke detector is fully operational.
