Monaghan Hurlers Suffer Armagh Defeat

Monaghan tasted opening round Nicky Rackard Cup defeat to Armagh at the Athletic Grounds as Armagh won out 2-20 to 2-14.

Second half goals from Dylan McKenna and a Nathan Curry penalty sowed the seeds for the Orchard County’s success.

Tadhg Campbell’S first half goal had seen the sides go in level at half-time 1-9 to 0-12, Fergal Rafter’s 52nd minute penalty saw Monaghan lead 2-12 to 1-14.

Monaghan could only register two further points in the final 18 minutes as Armagh registered 1-6.

The Farney men will face Longford on Saturday May 18th at 3pm in Inniskeen.
