Monaghan Professor says coronavirus is a combination of the Spanish Flu and the Great Depression

Coronavirus is a once in a lifetime event that people will be talking about one hundred years from now.

That’s according to Monaghan native Professor Sam McConkey, who is Head of the Department of International Health and Tropical Medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

Professor McConkey said that the coronavirus is like a combination of the Spanish Flu and the Great Depression and is a huge threat to our society and way of life.
