Monaghan Professor says says life may never return to how it was before Covid-19

A Monaghan Professor says life may never return to what it was pre Covid-19.

Infectious Disease Specialist with the RCSI, Sam McConkey says we’re witnessing a once in a lifetime event that has changed our value system.

He was speaking in response to claims that a vaccine could be distributed within a year, allowing society to return to how it was before the virus.

Sam McConkey said defences against Covid-19 could be developed but he expects it to last for up to seven years.
