Monaghan secured a convincing eight point win over Antrim to begin their 2019 season in style with a 1-20 to 1-12 victory.
Malachy O’Rourke’s men led by five points at half-time 0-11 to 0-6, thanks to two frees from Jack McCarron and two from play from Darren Freeman.
Barry McGinn, Colm Lennon, Micheál Bannigan, Jamie Walsh and James Mealiff all adding first half scores.
James Mealiff goal three minutes into the second half put nine points between the sides, while Antrim found the net on 53 minutes through Ruairi McCann Monaghan were always in control.
Scores from play from Ryan McAnespie, Fintan Kelly, Barry McGinn, Micheál Brannigan, Jack McCarron and a Rory Beggan free, secured a comfortable victory.
