Monaghan Score Last Gasp U-20 Westmeath Win

Monaghan got their Philly McGuinness Cup U20 Development League campaign off to a wining start with a one point win over Westmeath 1-11 to 2-7.

Ryan O’Toole’s point in second half stoppage time sealed the victory after Westmeath clawed back Monaghan’s four point half-time advantage.

Five Aaron Mulligan points (two from frees), and points from Andrew Woods, Niall McKenna and Jack Brannigan saw Monaghan lead eight points to 1-1 at the break.

Points from Jason Irwin and Aaron Mulligan in the second-half were cancelled out by TJ Cox’s goal as Westmeath fought back, before O’Toole’s last gasp winner.
