The Monaghan Sports Partnership officially launched its new strategy this morning.
The launch was attended by local representatives, Minister Heather Humphreys, and CEO of Sport Ireland John Treacy.
The aim of the plan going forward is to get more people of all ages throughout the county active, with particular focus on pre-school children and also integrating both native and immigrant communities.
While the five year plan has been described as ambitious by the board of the sports partnership they believe greater visibility throughout the region will encourage more to become active and avoid a sedentary lifestyle.
