Monaghan woman delighted to be given all-clear after MS diagnosis

A Monaghan woman says hearing her treatment for MS was successful was the best outcome she could have hoped for.

Karen McKenna, was 28-years-old, when she was diagnosed with MS, a disease that affects the brain, spinal cord and immune system.

Having gone through various treatments that didn’t work, McKenna began a fundraising effort last year to go to Russia for “game changing” treatment.

Following her annual check-up recently, she received the news she dreamed of hearing – she was given the all-clear.

She spoke to Northern Sound News about the “gift” that she has been given.
