Monaghan women’s network chief backs divorce change

The chairman of Monaghan Women’s Network supports the proposed changes to divorce legislation in Ireland.

Next May a referendum will be held to shorten the period those seeking a divorce need to live apart from four out of five years to two out of three years.

The ballot will be held on the same day as the European and local elections.

Fiona McCaffrey Jones believes it’s time to change the initial divorce legislation, which was signed into law in 1996.
