Paul Sexton landed gold at the Irish Life Health National Under-23 track and field championship in Tullamore on Saturday writes Paul O’Neill.
Annalee’s Sexton posted 55.10 seconds in the 400m hurdles, point five hundredths of a second clear of Loughrea’s Brendan Lynch
While club mate’s Roland Surlis and Oisin McCorry also made the podium. McCorry took silver in the U23 800m in 1:53.25 just off Annadale Striders Callum Crawford-Walker who won out in 1:52.97.
While Oisin McCorry took bronze in the junior 400 metres hurdles posting 56.65 seconds, Tony O’Connor of Naas won gold in 54.88 seconds.
Jack Murphy of Glaslough Harriers secured bronze in the Junior Men’s Pole Vault with a best of 3.20 metres. St.Abban’s Matthew Rossiter and Moycarkey Coolcro’s Ben O’Dwyer shared gold having jumped four metres.
